How familiar are you with the selective catalytic reduction systems and diesel particulate filters? Here is everything you need to know about the SCR systems, AdBlue, AdBlue emulator and emulator dpf.

What are the SCR systems?
“SCR” stands for the Selective Catalytic Reduction system. It is an advanced technology that reduces air pollutants. The SCR system has been in use since 1957. In recent years the system has become the most common way to reduce the level of air pollutants emitted by diesel engines. It is also the preferable way to meet the U.S. and European Union emissions standards. SCR systems use AdBlue fluids.

What is AdBlue?
The previously mentioned AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) made of aqueous urea solution (32,5{afb8de367d5c56f97f366347771717df689dbe157c5b6a42b947025476a13eca} urea and 67,5{afb8de367d5c56f97f366347771717df689dbe157c5b6a42b947025476a13eca} water). AdBlue freezes below -10°C (14°F) and when it happens, it may cause diagnostic system errors that can end up in power loss.
